| Sure, God gives us good gifts to enjoy here on earth, but that's not supposed to be the point of life. How the bread tastes in your mouth all depends on what you're doing with the words of God. Don't be satisfied with just the packaging - don't eat the box!

How easy it is to read that and think, oh isn't that nice. How hard it is to live that every day, continually making the conscious choice to believe it.
Think about it... God is FAITHFUL in His love for us, period. There are no conditions whatsoever on His love. And it is better than life.. like, everything in life! All the good gifts that God has given us, and they are all nothing compared to the One that they came from! As the recipients of this awesome privilege, our natural response should be to glorify God.
So what does it mean when we aren't glorifying God for His faithful love? The logical conclusion would be that we aren't believing that His faithful love IS better than life.
Why do we get that little seed of discontent deep in our souls? We are denying that He is the best thing in life: that God is good.. maybe He would be better if He gave us something that we don't have.
So how's your attitude towards God lately? Are you glorifying Him because He's the BEST thing in your life? Or maybe you keep getting sidetracked by things that cause you to think that He's jipping you.
It's a conscious choice that must be made constantly.. i pray that God would help me to make the right choice more often.. the only one that is truly satisfying.

| So i was thinking about going back to Northland, and i thought i'd share some of the things that came to mind of what i learned last year at school... things that really have nothing to do with school.. alot of these are not entirely new ideas, but things that are now cemented in my brain...
forget diamonds - in wisconsin, knee socks are a girl's best friend!
there are people out there who have a cow over "KJV only".. never heard of such a thing before
nearly ALL girls really have a problem getting it though their head that they don't have to change everything that they percieve as imperfect about their appearance in order for people to love them
skirts + high wind = embarrassing situations
oh, and did you know that pants are significantly warmer than skirts??
for pete's sake this is not high school anymore people - grow up!!
boys are still stupid
shocker - girls are messy and dirty! due to this, i sometimes could barely tell that i was no longer living in a house full of males..
everybody appears to be "a nice person" for a while... first impressions are not worth much
the world does keep spinning even if the toilet paper is on backwards
there are way too many guys in the world... men are few and far between
girls are always cold, but must wear skirts (which allow far too much ventilation for comfort in frigid weather)... guys are always hot, yet are forced to wear a suit and tie which only exacerbates their problem - who came up with that crazy idea anyway?
i always thought my family was fairly conservative.. uhh not so much..
college students not only listen to Disney songs, they actually like them?!
i am never ever going to be able to come to grips with how awesome God is, it's totally beyond my understanding, and i hope i never lose that amazement.
go ahead and add some things.. it'll be fun :)
